Pokémon Crimson & Indigo Dev Blog 01

Hello to everyone. Here MusashiX 96 with a (Not so) new post. Do you remember that I am making a Pokémon fangame? Well, today it's time to show you the progress my team is making and some details that I did not mention in my comment referring to Crimson and Indigo, now in English for the comfort of English speakers who likes my concept.. Before starting I must tell you that everything you see in this section is 100% fanmade.

The first thing I will show are some details that I did not mention before. The first thing is that Jack and Rose, unlike the rest of the protagonists that the series has had, are not blank pages; they will be protagonists with their own personality and have dialogue. I describe Jack as a combination of Jimmy (From The Legend of Thunder! TV special) and a bit of Kyo Kusanagi (The King of Fighters series): Energetic both inside and outside the battles, a little confident, and with an appreciate to his Pokémon. Rose, on the other hand, is a little calmer, thinks well about what she is going to do, wants to help everyone she loves, and gets upset when someone wants to do something to that person.

This means that, although the story is going to be the same, it has differences according to the character you have chosen. One of the things that create differences are the interactions with Horace: Jack will have Horace as a friend, while with Rose it is more a love interest.

Do you remember that I said that upon hearing the truth, Horace ends up with a Shinji Ikari complex? Well, a Post-Game mission that you have is that you will have to capture the Lake Guardians so he can recover.

Another thing, to give a realism to the world of Pokémon, the signs in Avalonia will be in English, while those of Kalos will be in French. Add that when Gabby and Ty talk among themselves (Yes, Gabby is now a correspondent in Avalonia), their dialogues will be in Japanese. All this referring to the basis of each region.

For those who wonder what Avalonia is like, here is the map of the region. This is the first version I made (Gold and Silver style). Soon I will receive an updated version.

Now it's time to show the Pokédex that you will receive.

Its design is inspired by 2 things: The Game Boy Color (For the case) and the new mobile phones that Nokia announced several months ago (For the concept of making a Retro and Modern hybrid). Prof. Maple VII explains that he made them with a box full of Pokédex that his father could not deliver.

Finally of the details, I am going to show you a new member of the Avalonia Elite 4.

She does not have a name yet. What is known is that she comes from the Sinnoh region, which uses Psychic-type and that her strongest Pokémon is a Gallade that can Mega-Evolve. In the event that you decide to defend the title, the point will come where Fango goes to your area to tell you that there is an emergency with Gosuto. When you check, you see that she is unconscious and that she is seen by doctors. A week later it is shown that Gosuto died of natural causes (If asked about her age, Gosuto is 106 years old). Later, you know this young woman who is the new one of the League. Now, in case you have decided to go to Kalos, when you come back to face the Pokémon League, you will see that she is already in the first seat, that Isaac is now in the second, that Mr. Watt is in the third, that Fango is in the fourth, and Maxinne took advantage of your absence to become the new champion of Avalonia.

Let's move on to the work of other team members, starting with Ashley Hernández. She is the main illustrator of the project. I say principal since, although it is I who made the designs, it is she who adapts them so that they are on a par with the most recent Pokémon games. Unfortunately, and as I mentioned in that comment, I have not heard nothing from her in several months.

Here you see Jack. Something she did not notice is that Jack has orange hair and no blonde hair. Another detail that he did not see, and this if she mentioned it, is that she did not put the PL175 on his jacket.

Let's go to Rose. I remind you that both Jack and Rose are 11 years old. As for Horace, I tell you that he is 14 years old.

Now let's move on to the work of -ツ Misael, the main programmer of the project.

Here you will see Jack's battle sprite. He used Red's sprite (Remake version) as a basis to do his sprite.

Here will be the Laboratory, the Museum of the Pokémon League, the mansion where Warpole and Horace lives, the 5th Gym, the Magnet Train station that connects with Lumiose City, and the counterparts of Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, the Tower of London, the London Eye (Here called Earlgrey Eye), Buckingham Palace, the Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Wembley Stadium, Hyde Park, Saint Paul Cathedral and Piccadilly Circus (Probably fewer places in the final version).
